Before treatment:

An artist in China likely painted this picture from a photograph or an etching. New York's Brooklyn Bridge appears in the background. Large tears and missing canvas as well as an old patch are among its problems. The noticeable cracking of the paint layer is typical of such paintings.

Detail, during treatment.

The painting is about half cleaned. The difference in the two sides is dramatic.

After treatment:

The painting has been lined, i.e., fused to a new canvas, cleaned, filled and in-painted revealing its many charming details.
