Before treatment.

At first glance this scene of Venice does not appear to be seriously damaged, except for light surface soil.

Detail, before treatment.

This is a close-up of the worst area of lifting paint, there is more on the left side, but less severe.

After treatment.

The lifting, flaking paint layer has been consolidated and re-adhered to the canvas. Then the painting was cleaned, and small paint losses were filled and in-painted. Finally a non-yellowing varnish was applied.
